Welcome to Goat Coatings

Custom Concrete Coatings that stand the test of time.

Our Services

Epoxy Finishes with Flake

Our epoxy flooring combines strength, style, and durability. We apply a high-performance epoxy base coat to create a smooth, seamless surface, then add decorative vinyl flakes for color, texture, and slip resistance. A clear polyaspartic top coat seals the system, providing a glossy, easy-to-clean finish that resists wear, chemicals, and UV damage — built to last and look great for years. Primary choice for garages and shops.

Epoxy Finishes with Quartz

Quartz systems offer exceptional strength and slip resistance with a clean, professional look. We combine a durable epoxy base with colored quartz sand for added texture, depth, and traction. A clear polyaspartic top coat seals and protects the surface, creating a seamless, non-porous floor that stands up to heavy traffic, moisture, and chemicals — ideal for outdoor areas like patios.

Our Step-By-Step Coating Process

At Goat Coatings, every project follows a proven system engineered for long-term durability, clean aesthetics, and a premium finish. Here’s exactly what happens when we transform your garage.

1. Grind – Professional Surface Preparation

We begin by mechanically grinding the concrete using industrial diamond grinders connected to HEPA vacuums.

This opens the pores of the concrete and creates the ideal bonding surface for our coatings.

All edges, corners, stem walls, and vertical surfaces are thoroughly hand-ground to ensure consistent adhesion everywhere.

2. Moisture Check

Before we apply any coatings, we evaluate the concrete for moisture.

This ensures we select the right system for your floor and supports proper long-term adhesion.

3. Patch & Repair

We repair all cracks, holes, pitting, and surface imperfections so your finished floor is smooth and seamless.

Stem walls and vertical areas are repaired and prepped to match the main slab.

Control and expansion joints can be left open or filled for a more seamless look—your choice.

4. Epoxy Base Coat – Moisture-Resistant Foundation

Next, we apply a high-quality epoxy base coat across the entire floor and up any selected stem walls.

Epoxy is the ideal first layer because it:

  • Bonds exceptionally well to concrete

  • Provides moisture-resistant protection against moisture coming up through the slab

  • Levels the surface and creates a solid foundation for the rest of the system

This moisture-resistant epoxy base is a key advantage over systems that rely only on polyurea or polyaspartic as the first coat.

5. Flake or Quartz Broadcast

While the epoxy is still wet, we evenly broadcast your chosen decorative flake or quartz:

  • Across the entire floor

  • Onto stem walls and verticals (if selected)

This adds color, texture, and extra durability.

6. Cure

The epoxy and flake cure overnight, forming a strong, fully bonded surface.

7. Scrape & Clean

Once cured, we scrape the floor in multiple directions to remove loose flake and flatten the texture.

Stem walls and verticals are cleaned and detailed to keep crisp lines and an even finish.

This step reveals the first look at your new floor.

8. Polyaspartic Top Coat – Durable, UV-Stable Finish

Finally, we apply a clear polyaspartic top coat (such as Floorguard’s Aspartic 85) across the entire system.

This top coat provides:

  • A high-gloss, premium finish

  • UV stability to help prevent yellowing

  • Excellent abrasion and chemical resistance

  • Easy cleaning and low maintenance

  • Long-term durability for daily use and hot tires

The result is a beautiful, long-lasting floor that performs just as good as it looks—on the main slab and across any finished stem walls.

The Install Process

Goats are strong, durable, and stand the test of time, just like your new floor.  For every project we do, we will donate a goat to a family in Kenya through our partnership with The Hope Venture.  This changes lives.  Goats provide financial stability to families and provide nourishing milk to many.

“…We are absolutely thrilled with how it turned out! Our old floor was really worn, and now it looks brand new, clean, bright, and beautiful with gray flakes.”

“…The team was great to work with, professional, friendly, and right on schedule. We’ve already noticed how easy it is to keep clean…”

DID YOU KNOW?

DIY epoxy kits only last 1-2 years. Our professional-grade process gives you a floor that can last 20+ years, as we take the time to do it right. Our two-day install process provides your space with a more durable floor as we use products that take longer to cure but stand the test of time. Our floor lasts longer than alternative install methods with one-day installs and quick-drying material. We prioritize quality of floor over install speed, for the highest long-term customer satisfaction.
